Alan Jackson Passes Down Writing Skills

The video idea for Alan Jackson’s latest song, “It’s Just That Way,” came from Alan’s oldest daughter Maddie.  Alan says she’s a gifted writer, but he’s not sure where she will take her talents. 

“She’s really smart and I don’t know where she got all of this, but she can pretty much do anything. She’s great at math and everybody says she’s a great writer. She writes for school and I don’t even understand half of it. I mean she writes stuff that I can’t figure out. Anyway, she does really well and I think that is what she is more interested in, but I don’t know if it’s journalism, typewriting, not necessarily songwriting. But I think she could probably write songs or whatever she wants to.”
